This is the initial step in the custom minting process which brings your idea to
life. Once you have your idea in mind of what you want, the first step will be to
begin consultation with our professional in-house representatives who will
easily guide you along the way so that your idea is accomplished quickly and
efficiently. This particular step is most important as it allows us to understand
your needs and convey this directly to our artists who will begin the process of
drawing and bringing your idea to life. Once the artists have satisfactorily
captured your idea on paper, the next step is to determine the finish of the coin,
which has an artistic merit of its own.
Selection of the metal to be used in the production of the finished product is
another important step as it allows for the artist’s work to become so exacting
that each coin is virtually hand made.
Two basic finishes are offered - Proof Mint or Enamel - which are determined
primarily by style requirements and more importantly, budget.
- Proof Mint - Offers Gem-quality mirrored and
frosted finish in 2- and 3-D designs in an
assortment of precious and non-precious
metals. These medallions are very similar in
quality to U.S. Mint un-circulated proof coins
sought by many collectors.
- Enamel Design - Offers a high detailed
colored finish in 2- and 3-D designs and is
typically die-struck in bronze metal with hard-
coat enamel in brilliant colors. Military
Challenge Coins are best known for this
style finish and reasonable lower cost.
